Sawnee Mountain Hike

I recently went to visit my sister in Cumming, Georgia. One thing that I love about visiting her area is that her backyard faces a forest. There are no fences to barricade it and you can just walk back and get to a trail that takes you on a lovely hike.

This time around we went with my husband and my son, Marcus, as well as my sister and her fiance. We took two hikes, one in the morning ( a short one) and a longer one in the evening. It was my first time going with my son strapped to my chest in a carrier and it made it both interesting and a nice work out. It becomes more of a challenge when there is an extra 17lbs of weight but it was worth it in the end as the views were great and the fresh air delightful.

There’s just something about being in the middle of the woods where the only sounds is the wind, your feet walking on the trail and the birds singing. That’s why I love a good hike because you’ll get the exercise, fresh air and your head will clear and you’ll be more relaxed.

I’m so happy that the weather is getting warmer and that hiking season is in effect. I know that you can hike when it is colder and even in the winter time (which I have done a few times) but it’s so much nicer in the warmer months.

A few days before we went on our hike, we were just relaxing on the deck of the guest house that she has and out of the blue in the distance, we saw three live turkeys walking by! It was a great sight and so unexpected. It’s so rare to see that in Canada unless you are literally in the middle of nowhere and even then you might not see anything. It made me happy for the rest of the day knowing that nature and wildlife was still out there doing its own thing.

Bzz Agent Pantene Pro-V Shampoo Review

Received complimentary for the Bzzz Agent campaign

I recently received a sample of the Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner to review. After trying it for a couple of weeks I can now provide an accurate review. The shampoo and conditioner are wonderful on your hair and they smell great! They will leave your hair feeling silky smooth and the additional volume will make it easier to do any kind of hair style. With the additional volume it makes it seems as though you have more hair and you look great after blow drying and styling your hair.

This is a wonderful shampoo to try if you have never tried it before or if you want to change up your hair routine. It is recommended to use both shampoo and conditioner at the same time as your hair will not feel the same if you just use the shampoo (at least for me it doesn’t). I find that my hair is always better when I use both 🙂 Using this shampoo makes your hair look amazing and boosts your confidence even more. Give it a try 🙂

By Your Side

By Your Side by Kasie West

Publication Date: January 31, 2017

Publisher: HarperTeen

Synopsis: In this irresistible story, Kasie West explores the timeless question of what to do when you fall for the person you least expect. Witty and romantic, this paperback original from a fan favorite is perfect for fans of Stephanie Perkins and Morgan Matson.

When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn’t think things could get any worse. But that’s before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn’t know much about Dax except that he’s trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he’s not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.

Only he doesn’t come. No one does.

Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax’s side?

Personal Thoughts: Kasie West books are amazing and always a great read. I can’t wait to read the last book by her 🙂

Jesse’s Girl Book Review

Jesse’s Girl by Miranda Kenneally

Publication Date: July 7, 2015

Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire

Source: Library

Synopsis: Everyone at Hundred Oaks High knows that career mentoring day is a joke. So when Maya Henry said she wanted to be a rock star, she never imagined she’d get to shadow *the* Jesse Scott, Nashville’s teen idol.
But spending the day with Jesse is far from a dream come true. He’s as gorgeous as his music, but seeing all that he’s accomplished is just a reminder of everything Maya’s lost: her trust, her boyfriend, their band, and any chance to play the music she craves. Not to mention that Jesse’s pushy and opinionated. He made it on his own, and he thinks Maya’s playing back up to other people’s dreams. Does she have what it takes to follow her heart—and go solo?

Personal Thoughts: I haven’t had a chance to read this book until now and I am so glad that I did. It is such a great story with great characters and real life situations. Maya and Jesse are great characters who you just want to keep watching to see how much more they can develop together. Their banter, jokes and arguments make the book that much sweeter 🙂

Kenneally has done a great job on her latest novel in developing amazing characters. Right from the start I really liked how Maya’s first impression of Jesse was completely the opposite of what he really was. It was interesting to see his perspective of what band life is all about and how people view you differently from what the norm is. It was interesting to see that not everyone loves the fame and can handle it the same and sometimes you have to make difficult decisions to keep moving forward in life.

I cannot wait to read the next book by Kenneally. Let’s keep them coming!
