Epic Recs is a feature hosted by Amber at Books of Amber and Judith at Paper Riot. It’s an informal book club of sorts, where it’s all about the book pushing. And reading, of course. Pick a partner or request a partner through Amber and Judith to join in the fun.
Last month I recommended The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson to Josephine. She liked The Sky is Everywhere. She thought it was touching and she liked that Lennie , the main character still kept her humour, no matter how bad things were going for her. As for The Book of Broken Hearts that was recommended to me. I thought that it was such a heartbreaking yet sweet story. I loved the main characters relationship that she had with her father and all of the things that she tried to do as soon as her father is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It was a wonderful read and recommendation.
This month I’ve recommended 16 Things I thought were true by Janet Gurtler. It’s a story of newly discovered friendships, life and the fact that some times things are just not in your control. The ending was a bit shocking but it made the book even better. Josephine from Word Revel (previously Dudette Reads), has recommended Converting Kate by Beckie Weinheimer. It has themes of religion, faith death and much more. The plot line sounds interesting and I hope that this is a good book. 🙂
